To be successful as a Solution Architect, you should have experience with:
* AWS Cloud & Architecture - VPC, IAM, ELB, ALB, EKS, ECS, Transit Gateways, Kubernetes, Secret Manager, Hashicorp Cyberark
* Data Processing - Java, Kafka, Streaming / Flink / REST APIs / gRPC / Spark Streaming & Batch
* Databases — NoSQL, AWS DynamoDB, MongoDB, Postgres/Oracle SQL DBs

* Fraud Detection Domain

This role will be based in either our Northampton or Glasgow office.
Purpose of the role
To design, develop, and implement solutions to complex business problems, collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements, and design and implement solutions that meet those needs, balancing technology risks against business delivery, and driving consistency.
Accountabilities
1. Design and develop solutions as products that can evolve, meeting business requirements, aligning with modern software engineering practices and automated delivery tooling, including identification and implementation of the technologies and platforms.
2. Apply workload placement strategies to maximize cloud capabilities such as elasticity, serverless, containerization.
3. Incorporate security principles (defence in depth, reduction of blast radius) that meet the Bank’s resiliency expectations.
4. Balance risks and controls to deliver the business and technology value.
5. Adopt standardised solutions where appropriate, and contribute to their evolution if no standard fits.
6. Support operational teams with fault finding and performance troubleshooting, leveraging tooling.
7. Assess solution design impacts in terms of risk, capacity, and cost, including project change and ongoing run costs.
8. Develop architecture inputs for governance compliance, including design artefacts for architecture, privacy, security, and records management.
