Role: Senior Pricing Analyst – Home Technical Pricing
Allianz are seeking a highly skilled Senior Pricing Analyst to join the Home Technical Pricing team. You will contribute to our success by developing sophisticated pricing models and strategies. This role is hybrid from our offices in Birmingham, Bournemouth or London.
Role Description
The Senior Pricing Analyst will be responsible for building and implementing advanced pricing models to optimize our product offerings and enhance profitability. You will participate in the Allianz Global P&C Academy, enhancing your skills in underwriting, risk engineering, pricing, and claims management while exchanging best practices across the Allianz Group. Allianz Insurance supports professional qualifications such as IFoA and CII where considered appropriate for the business and the individual. Our team values continuous learning with access to training platforms (e.g., DataCamp, Databricks Academy, LinkedIn Learning) and regular Lunch & Learn sessions, monthly insight sessions, and forums to refine technical skills.
Responsibilities
* Play a major role in the development and enhancement of pricing models, including design of modelling plans, data preparation, creation of models, and applying wider techniques (e.g., credibility).
* Contribute to the development of pricing structures and strategies to achieve growth and profitability objectives.
* Back test and analyse the impact of models, proposing adjustments to pricing as needed.
* Plan and manage projects, ensuring robust technical deliveries with clear stakeholder communication.
* Support innovation and increased sophistication in pricing approaches, including leveraging additional data sources.
* Share knowledge, skills, and best practices within the team.
Essential Skills
* Solid knowledge of relevant statistical modelling methods, particularly GLMs.
* Knowledge of relevant machine learning techniques, particularly GBMs.
* Experience working with large data sources.
* Strong command of Advanced Excel, Python, SQL, SAS, Databricks or similar languages.
* Experience with WTW’s Radar and Emblem.
* Good understanding of Technical Price elements, including expenses, costs, and actuarial/inflation assumptions.
* Good stakeholder management and ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships across the Pricing Department.
