Overview
Birmingham City Council is recruiting a Compliance Officer (Permanent, Grade 4) working 36.5 hours per week for the Private Rented Sector Property Licensing Service. The service aims to be the largest in the country, fitting for the second City and largest metropolitan Local Authority.
Salary: Grade 4 – £34,434 – £41,771. Consultation grade – subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review.
We are expanding the Private Rented Sector Property Licensing Service and are looking for committed, enthusiastic and organised individuals who can provide a best-in-class service in this new arena. Responsibilities
* Our Private Rented Sector Licensing Service will receive and process applications from private rented sector landlords, ensure compliance and take enforcement action for unlicensed privately rented premises in Birmingham.
* You will undertake inspections, investigations and enforce relevant statutory provisions aimed at protecting and improving homes and neighbourhoods across the city.
* You will have a good level of education or experience within the discipline, with excellent communication skills and a commitment to personal development. You will need commitment, enthusiasm and flexibility to work in a busy environment. Ideally you will have knowledge of housing legislation, experience in enforcement and the ability to use a range of IT packages.
