As a PCO, you’ll work closely with a team to provide safe and secure escorting and custody services to detainees, focusing on their physical and mental wellbeing. Your responsibilities will include: Escorting defendants to and from courtrooms, ensuring their safety and security. Monitoring detainees during court sessions, maintaining a secure environment. Handling sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality. Providing support during distressing testimonies while managing your own emotional wellbeing. Ensuring detainees have access to food and drink, catering to dietary needs. Monitoring the health of detainees and reporting any concerns. Maintaining court safety and security, responding to incidents as needed. Completing necessary paperwork accurately. Collaborating with court staff, law enforcement, and legal professionals. What You Need
We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds. What matters most is your commitment to making a difference. You’ll receive comprehensive training over 5.5 weeks, so prior experience isn’t necessary. Ideally, you should have: A valid driver's license. Good physical fitness. Strong written and verbal communication skills. This role requires responsibility, vigilance, and professionalism. All roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and offers are subject to Ministry of Justice Enhanced Level 2 checks.
