Head of Strategic Infrastructure & Technology
BnM has a need for a Head of Strategic Infrastructure & Technology to lead the planning and execution of integrated technology and infrastructure initiatives, ensuring the organisation’s success in the renewable energy landscape out to 2050.
Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial, this role encompasses leading initiatives in offshore wind, thermal, flextech, and e-fuels, as well as overseeing a comprehensive grid and infrastructure plan in collaboration with EirGrid and other key stakeholders. The role also involves formulating a future market plan to safeguard the company’s interests and enhance market positioning out to 2050.
The main duties and responsibilities include:
1. Strategic Technology
2. Portfolio Management: Lead a team managing a diverse multi-portfolio of technologies, including offshore wind, thermal, flextech, and e-fuels, aligning with the company's long-term vision for 2050.
3. Develop a roadmap for technology deployment and infrastructure investments supporting sustainable growth and operational efficiency, working with the Finance team to ensure plan deliverability.
4. Commercial Development
5. Collaborate with the Commercial Strategy and Route to Market team to develop project proposals and business cases supporting key investment decisions.
6. Lead a team of technology and infrastructure experts to provide data and insights for informed investment decisions.
7. Infrastructure Planning
8. Drive the development of a comprehensive grid and infrastructure plan aligned with national energy policies and industry standards, ensuring future readiness and scalability.
9. Work with EirGrid, CRU GNI, Uisce Eireann, and other stakeholders to agree on infrastructure requirements, timelines, and investment strategies.
10. Formulate and implement a future market plan to protect the organisation’s interests within the evolving energy landscape.
11. Analyze market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decisions and growth opportunities.
12. Horizon Scanning
13. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices, conducting research to inform strategic decisions and foster innovation.
14. Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, leveraging data and insights to enhance technology deployment and infrastructure effectiveness.
15. Stakeholder Engagement
16. Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, industry partners, and stakeholders to support infrastructure projects.
17. Represent the organisation in public consultations, forums, and industry events, communicating the company’s strategic vision effectively.
18. Manage joint venture partners and key stakeholders in technology and infrastructure development segments.

The Person:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills, knowledge, and attributes:
* Education & Qualifications
* Honours Degree in Engineering, Commercial, or Renewable Energy fields (required)
* Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (advantageous)
* Professional subscription or affiliation (desirable)
* Experience
* Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Renewable Energy or Infrastructure
* Proven track record managing large-scale projects
* Experience collaborating with regulatory bodies and stakeholders
* Experience in Renewable Energy, Power Generation, Technology, or Grid Infrastructure sectors
* Management-level experience
* Skills & Attributes

* Deep understanding of renewable energy technologies, markets, and grid infrastructure
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
