An opportunity has arisen to be a project officer within the Safer East Sussex Team. Part of the wider Public Health Team, the Safer East Sussex Team focuses on a range of community safety issues that affect people that live in East Sussex. This role is based in the substance misuse section of the team and will provide vital support across a range of projects that reduce the impact of drug and alcohol use. The work of the team is crucial is delivering work which meets both local and national strategic aims.
This is a varied role which will give the right individual an opportunity to develop their project support skills and will also give them a flavour of leading some appropriate projects. The work will include supporting contract management processes, supporting the team's project manager in driving forward new initiatives to benefit those misusing substances and helping to increase the role those with lived experience of substance misuse play in developing services.
We Are Looking For An Individual Who Is
* Experience in supporting project work
* Able to work on team projects whilst using their own initiative
* Organised and methodical
* Has an understanding of how the council works with partners to provide services
* An understanding of addressing the impact of substance is an advantage
