KS1 Teaching AssistantLocation: Handsworth, B20Pay Rate: £110 - £120 per dayStart Date: ASAP Contract: Monday - Friday, long-term temp to perm.Long Term Futures are recruiting for a patient, resilient and passionate Teaching Assistant who can provide support in across Key Stage 1 classrooms for a welcoming and caring school based in Handsworth, Birmingham, accessible from Birmingham City Centre. This position is a long-term role and for the right candidate there is an opportunity to be made permanent. The school is looking for a proactive, accommodating and positive person who is looking to excel and become a crucial part of their team. Key Responsibilities:
* Support pupils' academic progress as well as their emotional wellbeing and personal development
* Assist with targeted interventions in Phonics, Maths and Reading
* Provide occasional PPA cover, leading the class in the absence of the teacher
* Reinforce learning across a range of subjects through small group and 1:1 support
* Encouraging focus, confidence and positivity
* Advise and support in creating a calm learning environment
* Reinforcing learning by assisting with a range of subjects
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* A Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning Qualification, or relevant subject
* Experience working with Key Stage One pupils
* A background supporting students in a classroom or similar setting
* An understanding of how to support students' learning and development
* A co-operative and positive attitude
