Job Summary
We are looking for a talented Senior Planning Manager based to join our UK team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of construction schedule support across our UK portfolio, as well as playing a key role in the evolution of Equinix Project Controls.
Based on site at our Slough, London or Hertfordshire campuses, this role presents an opportunity to become an integral part of our project team and ensure first class delivery of our upcoming UK portfolio.
The right candidate will develop, coordinate, integrate, and manage complex project schedules across a diverse range of initiatives. This team member will have significant experience of leading and overseeing intricate project schedules throughout their full lifecycle, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams in Engineering, Design, Construction Management, and Commissioning.
Responsibilities
1. Lead the support of our UK construction management team, utilising planning and scheduling to plan, track, and drive Equinix projects
2. Be responsible for multiple projects within the region, lead and developing a team responsible for creating, maintaining, and coordinating design / procurement / construction and commissioning schedules
3. Lead campus wide project planning efforts interfacing with project team members, clients, general contractors, and vendors, aligning all GDC&P stakeholders on schedule requirements, and mitigating potential schedule impacts
4. Manage fully integrated multi-disciplinary civil / structural / architectural / mechanical / electrical & instrumentation schedules
5. Report on schedule earned value including critical path, trend analysis highlighting impacts to project milestones
6. Preparing schedule updates and analysis reports, comparing forecast schedule to baseline, identifying schedule variances, evaluating potential resolutions to schedule impacts
7. Extract and analyse specific information from schedules using layouts, filters, look-ahead, labour histograms and S-curves & provide GC schedule assessment and analysis insights to Project Managers to support data driven decision making
8. Facilitate and lead schedule planning workshops and reviews, co-ordinate multi-disciplinary team identifying interfaces between general contractors with the subject matter experts and program team
9. Lead Campus wide project planning efforts, building relationships and trust with our GDCP stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and alignment on schedule data
10. Input to the future direction and evolution of planning and scheduling at Equinix. Proactively contribute expertise and engage with stakeholders to drive fit-for-purpose solutions
11. Implement the necessary regional specifics for planning and scheduling processes and deliverables, whilst ensuring a level of consistency with global standards - information gathering and benchmarking, schedule templates, GC requirements, etc.
12. Drive the benefits of planning and scheduling at campus level, using data to produce executive insights, identify trends, and support escalations when needed
13. Input to best-in-class customer reporting, placing the customer at the centre of our reporting approach
14. Provide internal schedule assurance in support of project funding and approvals process and production of due diligence/funding ask L1 schedules
15. Ensure consistency of deliverables, audit compliance and adherence to planning and scheduling process between projects
16. Lead planning and scheduling campus level related initiatives - time to market, schedule estimates, benchmarking etc.
17. Support the evaluation and adoption of new technology innovations into our construction process and project controls services
Qualifications
18. Proven track record of construction planning & scheduling experience at project & campus level, preferably within the data centre industry
19. Experience working with and validating General Contractor schedules and issuing specific technical feedback
20. Experience in CSA, MEP construction planning from Preconstruction through to Commissioning
21. Excellent working knowledge of planning software – Primavera P6 & Microsoft Project are essential
22. Ability to work cross-functionally within a matrix org, dealing with a variety of stakeholders
23. Excellent communication & presentation skills
24. Experience of implementing new technology in construction/project controls would be advantageous
Location
25. This will be an onsite role based in Slough/London full time with onsite presence expected 3-5 days per week
