1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – SEN School
Hayes, West London
Full-Time, Long-Term
Up to £650 per week | Immediate Start

The Role – 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

* Full-time, long-term position starting immediately
* Provide 1:1 support for a student with complex needs (e.g., autism, SEMH, ADHD)
* Assist with academic learning and social interaction to help the student engage fully in class activities
* Support the student with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and personal care where necessary
* Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualised learning plans (ILPs) tailored to the student’s unique needs
* Monitor and track progress, offering constructive feedback and updates to staff and parents
* Help create a positive, structured learning environment where the student feels supported and empowered to succeed

Person Specification

* A degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field (desirable but not essential)
* Previous experience supporting children with SEN (especially autism, SEMH, or ADHD) is preferred
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting children with complex needs
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
* A genuine desire to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their personal best
