Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their in-house legal team. The candidate should be an experienced commercial lawyer with a focus on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The role involves providing practical, business-focused legal advice to the company's global operations.
Key Accountabilities:
Provide legal support on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related issues; support daily commercial and regulatory legal matters.
Help manage compliance with relevant laws and regulations across jurisdictions and network policies.
Support technology and risk management teams with legal expertise.
Develop and implement governance and operational policies, procedures, and playbooks.
Review and advise on new services, solutions, and legal/regulatory issues related to technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI.
Manage external legal counsel in multiple jurisdictions, ensuring cost-effective and efficient work.
Balance practical advice with risk management and compliance obligations.
Deliver presentations and write articles on legal topics.
Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or relevant in-house experience.
Expert legal skills with the ability to lead complex legal and regulatory issues.
Strategic risk management skills with quick issue identification and mitigation recommendations.
Experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing agreements; advising on laws across multiple jurisdictions.
Ability to work independently and manage complex files, collaborating with business teams.
Ability to balance the needs of a growing global business with legal and compliance risks.
Self-motivated, thrives in a fast-paced environment with global stakeholders.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
