The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Laboratory Coordinator to join our Support Unit team in Cambridge, UK.

This is a full-time an onsite role, working closely with the Operations manager and scientists to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of laboratory operations. Your work will support our scientists in generating high-quality data and delivering results to our clients. This is a dynamic role that requires strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise tasks, attention to detail and a solution-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations to ensure high productivity and compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
* Prepare and maintain reagent stocks, media, buffers, and labware (glass and plastic), ensuring consistent availability and quality
* Liaise with the logistics team for organising shipping of biological samples across sites
* Ensure correct disposal of laboratory waste by adhering to internal procedures and external safety regulations
* Manage stock levels of laboratory consumables and reagents, placing timely orders to avoid shortages and support uninterrupted research activities
* Organise and maintain biological sample inventories, ensuring proper storage, and documentation


Your Profile

* Experience following SOPs to prepare stock reagents in a laboratory setting
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Previous experience in inventory management and stock control
* Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
* Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical and operational issues
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Good understanding of Health and Safety regulations in Laboratories
* Experience in laboratory operations within a biotech industry, life sciences or R&D
* A degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent industry experience
