Health & Safety Coordinator Part time or Full time hours available £40k Circa Permanent position This is a great opportunity to work as part of their Senior team, this position would be ideal for a person with a passion for excellence and who is a natural leader. This role will suit an individual who has a career in H&S but wants or needs to work on a reduced hours basis. The role will be a 20 hour a week on site position with support given from an external H&S consultancy. Although someone wanting Full time hours will also be considered. Main Responsibilities · Conduct safety inspections and audits when required. · Work with the Operations Team to continuously improve the H&S on the shopfloor. · Review fire risk assessments and ensure any issues are resolved with the relevant parties. Maintain the safety of people and the environment by regular monitoring and testing of Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Environmental Operational Control procedures. · Attend daily morning meetings when on site and report monthly KPI's. · Coordinate yearly/monthly/weekly/daily compliance checks with regards to LOLER, COSHH, legionella, fire safety etc from contractors. · Report on site Health and Safety obligations, including accidents, incidents, near misses and Improvement Opportunities Desirable skills: · Enthusiastic with a solution focused attitude, self-motivated and dedicated to achieving the highest results. · Self-motivated individual · Continuous improvements thinker · Ability to identify risks or potential areas for improvements. · Good technical knowledge of health & safety, fire safety and environmental protection · Previous experience in manufacturing and warehousing would be an advantage. · Have the ability to influence and persuade people at all levels within the organisation both informally, and within the meeting and training environments, with the ability to project a professional positive presence and an appropriate level of credibility. · Effective time management skills, able to work within tight time frames with ability to plan and prioritise, think clearly and strategically. · Strong written skills and IT skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint as a minimum Essential skills: · Good working knowledge of ISO9001 & ISO45001 · Experience working within an engineering environment. · NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) · NEBOSH Fire Safety & Risk Management & Member of IOSH What You'll Do: Conduct safety inspections and audits.
