We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming SEN primary school in Salford. This role involves supporting pupils with a range of needs, including autism, severe learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and medical conditions. Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored classroom support to pupils with complex SEN needs, ensuring they can access learning in a safe and inclusive environment.
* Assist with personal care, including:
o Toileting and changing
o Feeding and hydration support
o Mobility assistance for pupils with physical disabilities
* Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
* Foster positive relationships with pupils, promoting independence and confidence.
* Support pupils during transitions, playtimes, and off-site activities.
* Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and care routines.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure holistic support.
Requirements
* Previous experience working with children with complex SEN needs (e.g., autism, physical disabilities, medical needs).
* Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
* Ability to provide personal care with dignity and respect.
* Strong communication skills and a proactive, resilient, patient, and caring approach.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
