About the Role
Pre-Operative Assessment (POA) is a nurse-led team supporting the Elective Surgery pathway across various surgical specialties including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Vascular, and others. The team supports both day case and in-patient pathways, seeing around 400 patients weekly.
As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will work collaboratively within the team, independently, and under supervision, following Trust policies to ensure patients receive the necessary care for their surgical admission preparation. You will have opportunities to develop skills such as venepuncture, ECG monitoring, blood glucose testing, and more.

Location and Working Hours
Main site at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with some ad hoc work at a second city centre location. The service operates 7 days a week, with some weekend shifts on a rotational basis.
