We are looking for a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our Security team at St Giles London, located in the heart of the historic West End Londons main commercial and entertainment hub. As a Security Officer, your primary responsibility is to protect and safeguard our guests, employees, and property. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment, while delivering courteous and efficient service that reflects the St Giles standard.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure the safety and security of all hotel guests, staff, and visitors within the premises.
* Conduct regular patrols and documented building checks throughout guest floors, restaurants, lounges, reception, and conference areas.
* Monitor and maintain CCTV systems, Yaletronic door locks, safes, and staff access control points.
* Respond to incidents promptly and professionally, maintaining accurate reports and notifying the Security Manager and relevant personnel.
* Enforce fire and health & safety procedures, ensuring full compliance with COSHH regulations and internal policies.
* Manage lost property procedures and ensure proper documentation and handling of returned items.
* Keep the external areas of the hotel clear of hazards and record any corrective actions taken.
* Wear appropriate protective clothing and attend required Statutory Fire and Health & Safety training.
* Report any defects or hazards in the building, plant, or equipment, and act according to hotel procedures.
* Be fully conversant with all relevant risk assessments, evacuation protocols, and emergency procedures.
* Assist in coordinating emergency responses and ensure that accidents are reported in accordance with policy.
About You:
You are engaging, motivated, and possess strong communication and organisational skills. You remain calm under pressure, are attentive to detail, and excel in customer service and teamwork. Youll also demonstrate good administrative ability and work well with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
* A valid SIA license is essential.
* Previous experience in a hotel security or customer service environment is highly desirable.
* You must be familiar with hotel procedures including lost property, incident reporting, and evacuations.
* Strong working knowledge of health & safety standards, including Fire Safety and COSHH regulations.
