Job Description
Role: Quality Assurance Manager
Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Warrington, this role will be required to be based at site 5 days a week
We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent Quality Assurance Manager based at our Warrington site. Reporting directly to our Group Technical Manager for Operations, you will play a key role leading QA at our Warrington site. You will lead a dedicated site team of approximately 10 people, including Quality Auditors, Supervisors, and Hygiene specialists, all working together to ensure the highest standards of food safety.
This is a unique opportunity to take full ownership of technical decisions at the site level. You will act as the vital link between our site leadership and the wider technical function, ensuring that our fast-paced operations always deliver safe, high-quality meals to our customers.
Core Responsibilities
1. Manage the daily activities of the site Quality and Hygiene teams to maintain excellence
2. Lead all food safety decision-making and act as the final point of escalation for on-site technical issues
3. Steer the technical relationship between the Group Technical Manager and the Site Leadership Team
4. Oversee allergen controls and verification processes to ensure total label accuracy
5. Drive continuous improvements in quality processes across the Warrington site
6. Coach and support team members to resolve conflicts and build high-performance capabilities
7. Implement the site auditing schedule to ensure full compliance with food safety standards
8. Translate technical requirements into practical, common-sense solutions for the production environment
Who You Are
9. Experience leading teams within a food production environment
10. Ability to make independent decisions with confidence in a fast-paced setting
11. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical details to various audiences
12. Knowledge of allergen management and date coding protocols
13. Experience conducting and managing internal or external audits
14. Skilled in coaching others and managing team dynamics effectively
15. A practical problem-solver who can adapt quickly to the "Gousto world"
16. Comfortable using G Suite for daily tasks and reporting
Qualifications
17. Level 3 HACCP certification.
18. Level 3 Food Safety certification.
19. Allergen management training.
