In this role you’ll create a safe and nurturing environment where the children can heal and grow. You’ll build trusting relationships, facilitate engaging activities. Our trauma-informed approach recognises and responds to the impact of trauma on the lives of our young people, shaping every aspect of their care. About the service Welcome to our brand new, 4 bedroomed home in Ryton, Tyne and Wear, designed as a safe and supportive environment for the children aged 7-17. Nestled in a residential area with convenient access to local amenities and excellent travel links, including free parking, our home offers a true haven. Recently refurbished to the highest standards, we're building a dedicated team of therapeutic residential workers committed to delivering tailored, trauma-informed support to each child, ensuring their individual needs are met and care with care and understanding. Building excellent relationships with young people, their families and other care professionals. Being an advocate for the wellbeing of the young people. Working within a Therapeutic model of care. Let's talk about you Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have: Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us, full support will be provided.
