The Salvation Army Corps in Skegness (East Midlands Division) has an established ministry and service to the local community in the name of Jesus motivated by scripture found in Isaiah 61:4.
The Corps Leader will be responsible for all aspects of the corps ministry and mission working within the context of The Salvation Army’s mission priorities of sharing the good news of Jesus, nurturing disciples of Jesus, serving without discrimination, care for creation and seeking justice and reconciliation.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
1. Providing leadership to the local mission expression
2. Modelling a Christian lifestyle and example
3. Working sensitively ensuring that there is an inclusive and welcoming environment, engaging will people of all faiths and none.
4. To oversight the corps café which is an integral part of the corps mission.
To be considered for the role you will have:
5. Experience of demonstrating spiritual leadership, ministry, sharing the gospel, leading prayer and worship and giving pastoral support in a related context, such as in a local church or corps.
6. Proven ability to facilitate creative and effective church and community projects and activities for diverse range of participants in similar settings to Swadlincote.
7. Excellent communications skills with proven good experience of managing / volunteers to deliver objectives
8. The ability to work flexibly to deliver the requirements of your role such as evening work/weekend work
The role has an Occupational Requirement for a Salvation Army Soldier where you will participate in and lead the worship, mission and life of this local Salvation Army expression. In addition, you will also be expected to work to the Corps Leader ‘Code of Practice’ at all times.
