Our Structures division work across the full spectrum of London and the South East’s highways structures and broader infrastructure needs. We have a strong track record of delivering refurbishments and improvements, heritage maintenance, structural repairs and work for rail and tunnels.

The Highways Maintenance Apprentices Role
You will work in a supportive learning environment to develop all the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to become a successful Highways Maintenance Apprentices. You will complete a Level 2 apprenticeship and learn about the maintenance and repair of highways, roads, pavements and street furniture as well as learning about the associated traffic management.
Other responsibilities include:
-Learning to undertake a variety of construction activities on Civil Engineering Projects
-Learning a variety of construction skills, such as groundworks, structural concrete, pavement construction, drainage, basic carpentry and hard landscaping
-Carrying out all works with care and with attention to safety, using the appropriate tools, safeguards and PPE.
-Ensuring that a safe system of work is in place before any works are commenced and to stop work and notify management, should any circumstances change
-Ensuring that tools and equipment are in good condition, stored safely and securely when not in use and that any defects or malfunctions are reported to your line manager
-Utilising digital site record keeping, workflow and management tools
-Pursuing your studies to gain the knowledge, skills, and behaviours of a Highways Operative
What we’re looking for in our Highways Maintenance Apprentices
To be considered for this role you must be educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English. You will be reliable, hardworking with an interest in the construction industry. You will have strong communication skills and the enthusiasm to learn and develop.
