Unlock your passions @ Lincvet
Lincvet are the area centre of excellence which encompasses people, management and financial performance located in Lincoln. Lincoln is a city full of history and heritage. It’s known for the medieval Lincoln Cathedral along with Lincoln Castle which houses a Victorian prison and a copy of the Magna Carta. Lincoln is full of fantastic independent cafes and restaurants, you’ll also find an abundance of shops, bars and pubs. Lincoln is easily accessible by all types of transport. The city centre is home to a state-of-the-art transport hub with a bus station & train station. Lincvet is situated in the centre of the city and is a 2-minute walk to the high street.
Having helped numerous new grads navigate the first few years of their Veterinary careers, we know how important a friendly, patient and reassuring team is during your first few months in practice. Lincvet offers a nurturing environment, where our staff members are highly valued and supported. Our wonderful team is made up of 5 full time Vets (including 1 new grad), 2 part time Vets, 11 RVNs an 1 SVN. We are a nurse training practice and we feel that an open attitude to learning creates the best working environment. We encourage colleagues to share knowledge and our management team is always open to new ideas.
We prioritise work/life balance and have a great team who genuinely get on well with each other. They regularly socialise out of work and have previously organised team activities such as cinema trips, axe throwing and meals out as well as our annual Christmas party.
Practice facilities include ultrasound, in-house lab, digital x-ray, tonometer and dental facilities. We also have certificate holders within the team in Small
Animal Surgery and Small Animal Medicine.
Step into a supportive start
Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, 4 days a week. Monday to Friday between 8am and 7pm. You will also be required to participate in a weekend rota and/or an out of hours on-call rota which will include working on weekends and bank holidays.
The transition from being a student to being a new Vet in a clinical practice setting is significant. Knowledge and experience will be gained over time, but the most important is to have the support and freedom to attempt new things so you can learn. Lincvet is a training practice and can provide all the patience and support a new graduate needs with no judgement, but also without making it overwhelming. Both Vets and Nurses are willing to help to achieve the best outcome with minimum stress. There is always chance to try a new case or procedure and knowing someone is there to support you gives you the confidence to attempt it. There is always a discussion before assigning something new that you might not be happy doing yet. There are reflective discussions frequently, with advice on how to improve things but mostly praise for the correct ones. Effort is greatly appreciated and the environment inspires you to advance your skills.
