Overview
Are you an experienced Children\'s Nurse looking for a new challenge? We are recruiting to our Children\'s Community Nursing service in Cornwall. This is a permanent position to support service expansion and a 7-day working pattern, with two Band 6 Children\'s Community Nurse vacancies available.
This role is currently only open to people who already work for the NHS in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly, specifically within the following organisations: Cornwall Foundation Trust, Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, or Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board. If you do not currently work for one of these NHS organisations, your application will not be considered at this time.
Employment details
* Permanent contract for 37.5 hours per week, currently divided over 4 days; part-time working will be considered at interview.
* Weekend and bank holiday working required; on call requirement for End of Life care.
Responsibilities
* Hold your own caseload, planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating care for children and young people.
* Develop and support our strategy to reduce unnecessary hospital admissions and length of stay by facilitating early and safe discharge from the acute trust.
* Support children and young people with long-term or palliative conditions in the community and acute settings as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications and requirements
* Current experience caring for acutely unwell children.
* Highly motivated with excellent acute clinical assessment skills.
* Strong communication and organisational abilities; able to work effectively under pressure and independently.
