Job Description
An established civil engineering contractor with a strong presence across the North East is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support its growing portfolio of residential groundworks projects.
The role involves being commercially responsible for a number of residential development schemes, working closely with site and operational teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and within budget.
Key responsibilities
* Cost management, forecasting, and reporting across multiple sites
* Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
* Preparation of valuations, variations, and final accounts
* Supporting tendering and pricing for upcoming works
* Liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
* Driving commercial performance and identifying cost‑saving opportunities
About You
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering.
Essential
* Strong background in residential groundworks/housebuilding civils
* Working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts
* Commercially aware with good negotiation capability
* Able to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment
* Strong communication and organisational skills
