Role: Senior Analyst - Credit Risk BU/Segment: Banking / Analytics Location: Halifax, United Kingdom (Flexible hybrid working) Employment Type: Umbrella Contract (Inside IR35) to start ASAP We are seeking a Senior Risk Analyst to support the migration of credit risk strategies from legacy system to cloud based decisioning system. The role will work closely with the Delivery Lead and business stakeholders to ensure accurate translation, testing, and validation of strategies during the migration lifecycle. The candidate will play a critical role in understanding the existing strategies and translating the requirements / functions into rules and validating strategy outputs to ensure functional and data integrity across platforms. As part of your duties, you will be responsible for: Partner with the Delivery Lead to support migration and implementation of credit risk strategies from legacy to new systems, ensuring business intent and risk objectives are preserved. Validate strategy performance and rule logic through structured testing, impact assessment, and analytical review. Perform unit testing and data validation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of risk decisions across platforms. Conduct data analysis using SAS and Excel to reconcile outputs, investigate variances, and identify root causes. Analyse existing risk strategies, decision rules, scorecards, and policy logic to ensure accurate translation into the target platform. Support end-to-end validation including system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and post-deployment monitoring. Work closely with business, technology, and data teams to resolve functional gaps and ensure robust implementation. Document assumptions, logic interpretation, testing evidence, and validation outcomes in a structured manner. Contribute to continuous improvement of testing frameworks, controls, and governance processes within risk strategy delivery. Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role: 8 years of experience within retail banking environment with strong understanding of credit risk strategies and decisioning logic Solid understanding of risk decisioning frameworks (application, behavioural, collections strategies). Proficiency in SAS for data analysis, validation, and reconciliation. Strong working knowledge of MS Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data analysis). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. Ability to work closely with delivery leadership and cross-functional teams. Experience in credit risk systems implementation or strategy optimisation. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivery excellence.
