Job Title: Fabricator Welder (with Machining Experience). Location: Rochester, Kent. Job Type: Full Time. Job Summary: The Food Machinery Company Ltd, which has experienced ongoing success, is actively seeking a highly skilled Fabricator Welder with expertise in machining processes. The ideal candidate should possess a comprehensive background in metal fabrication, with proficiency in TIG welding techniques, and hands-on experience with manual machining tools. Key responsibilities include interpreting technical drawings accurately, assembling components precisely, and maintaining high standards of quality and precision in all tasks. This role emphasizes a strong commitment to safety protocols, continuous quality improvement, and adherence to the company's rigorous standards to ensure optimal performance and product excellence. Key Responsibilities: • Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components according to engineering drawings and specifications. • Perform TIG, and Stick welding on various metals but mostly stainless steel. • Operate machining tools such as lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders (manual). • Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and adherence to tolerances. • Interpret welding symbols, and technical drawings. • Measure and mark materials for cutting and welding. • Perform layout work and tack weld assemblies. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams as needed. • Perform basic maintenance on welding and machining equipment. Requirements: • Proven experience as a fabricator welder, with additional experience in machining. • Proficient in TIG welding processes, MIG and Stick also desirable. • Competent in using manual machining equipment. • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings. • Good knowledge of materials (mostly Stainless Steel). • A knowledge of working with Polycarbonate is desirable. • Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods. • Attention to detail and high standards for quality. • Relevant certifications (e.g., welding certs, machining courses) essential. • A knowledge of workshop health and safety practices is essential.
