Job Overview:
FAR Group requires local guard services for 86-88 Blenheim Crescent (BC), West Ruislip,
Middlesex, London HA4 7HB. Blenheim Crescent is a British MoD facility consisting of four
buildings provided to various agencies of the United States government and an element of the
Canadian military. The major tenants are international offices of the U.S. Air Force, Navy and Army
research enterprises whose general missions are to find and fund international science and
scientists to support the U.S. Department of Defense's technological objectives. Those particular
offices are referred to as Edison House at Blenheim Crescent.
Requirements:
The Security Guard shall do the following:
Alarm Monitoring - A centralized alarm system for BC exists at the BC site. The security guard will
be responsible for monitoring the alarm system 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The alarm
system may comprise of, but is not limited to fire and security alarms. Fire and security alarms will
be dispatched as appropriate.
Alarm Response - Guards are responsible for recognizing and providing adequate/appropriate
response to an emergency situation generated by an alarm at the monitoring panel or is a result of
a legitimate emergency communication from a credible source. Guards are expected to assist with
fire evacuations and ensure gates to BC be opened all the way to allow dispatched fire rescue to
enter BC without delay.
Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) Monitoring - A centralized monitoring station exists for BC and
the BC site. Security guard will be responsible for monitoring the CCTV for BC 24 hours a day and 7
days a week and will proactively monitor the CCTV to identify and call/notify proper authorities to
prevent suspicious criminal activity (i.e. damage, sabotage, espionage, theft, unauthorized access,
etc.) directed against the facilities, grounds, property and personnel before it occurs.
Patrols - Patrols will provide a proactive presence, act as a deterrent, and focus on identifying
and preventing suspicious criminal activity (i.e. damage, sabotage, espionage, theft,
unauthorized access, etc.) directed against facilities, grounds, property and personnel before it
occurs. The security guard need to cover by patrolling the BC site both externally and internally
24 hours a day and 7 days a week as well as maintaining security posture of the facility by
turning off lights, closing windows, and locking and securing doors and gates. Security guard
shall notify the Site Commander and proper authorities if they encounter pressing safety
hazards or maintenance problems.
Entry Control - BC has restricted access. During regular duty hours and days, access is
continuous at vehicle and pedestrian gates. After hours, access at gates is on demand and
occurs by request. Regular duty hours and days are typically 0600 - 1800, Monday through
Friday.
The security guard will be responsible for monitoring and controlling all traffic entering and
exiting the area. The security guard will ensure only authorized personnel are allowed on site.
This shall include the verification of vehicle and individual identity credentials before granting
access. Vehicle and personnel searches may occur at the vehicle and pedestrian gates.
Reception Area - The security guard shall be responsible for issuing visitor badges after
verifying the relevance and legitimacy of the visit with the host. The security guard shall keep a
log of all visitors entering and exiting the facility. If requested by the Site Commander individual
searches may be required.
The security guard is responsible for answering the government provided landline and
contractor provided mobile phone. They are also responsible for collecting mail directed to the
facility from the British Post and delivering mail to the intended recipient's office for collection.
Random Anti-terrorism Measures (RAMs) - The guard will conduct RAMs throughout
every month as instructed by designated Anti-Terrorism Representatives (ATRs). All of the
above requirements in section 1.3 may be augmented through the use of random antiterrorism
measures. Examples include extended foot patrols, vehicle searches, enhanced ID checks, etc.
Random anti-terrorism measures are influenced by the Force Protection Condition (FPCON)
level.
Requirements:
• Candidates recommended for duty will be either U.S. or U.K. citizens. They must be able to
read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Background checks - Candidates are required to possess a United Kingdom Security Vetting
(UKSV) Security Clearance (SC). Temporary waivers may be approved by the government
