Job Description:
We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the CAMHS Intensive Outreach Team. The consultant (post holder) will assess and review young people with complex presentations and high risks, working alongside the MDT and community CAMHS.
Main duties of the job
* Deliver direct interventions to service users, including those who are difficult to engage.
* Conduct ongoing assessments, diagnoses, reviews, and treatments.
* Provide advice to the Multi-Disciplinary Teams in CIOT.
* Attend MDT meetings and board rounds regularly.
* Assess and treat outpatients in clinics.
* Visit patients at their residence if clinically indicated.
* Liaise with other services, GPs, and non-NHS organizations.
* Coordinate with community CAMHS and Inpatient services for client handovers.
* Participate in team and personal caseload management and supervision.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration or eligibility, with a current license to practice.
* Eligible for the Specialist Register or within 6 months of gaining CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
* Section 12 approval/Approved Clinician Status or able to achieve within 3 months.
* MB BS or equivalent qualification.
* Relevant higher degrees (MD, PHD, MSc, etc.).
* MRCPsych or equivalent.
* Additional clinical qualifications.
* Experience working with children and young people with mental health issues.
* Participation in CPD.
* Effective multidisciplinary and multi-agency working experience.
* Additional therapy training (e.g., CBT, systemic therapy, DBT).
Personal Skills
* Leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively.
* Time and workload management skills.
* Excellent communication skills for working with patients, carers, and staff.
Clinical Skills
* Psychiatric assessment, formulation, risk management, and psychopharmacology skills.
* Understanding of management skills for a Consultant role.
Teaching
* Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
* Research involvement and publication experience.
* Supervision of junior staff research projects.
* Experience in audits and leadership training.
