Job Title: Supply Chain Quality Auditor Location: Ipswich Pay: PAYE £383.13 or Umbrella £534.42 Job ID: 1780 Principal Accountabilities, Activities and Decisions General Support the development of quality (QA/QC) arrangements for deployment across the SZC organization. Implement key quality arrangements related to the following topics: Manage Quality Execution Support Technical Assessment of Suppliers Conduct Supplier Audit Undertake actions to resolve issues relating to the implementation of quality and to bring about improvements and support others in these actions. The post holder has no direct line management responsibilities. Primary accountability Support the development of a risk-based Supply Chain Audit programme which provides assurance that the Supply Chain is operating in conformance to requirements (ISO 9001 and SZC Project) and is effective in terms of delivering intended results. Liaise with the Supply Chain Assurance, Supply Chain Inspection, Environmental, and Health and Safety functions to capture their inputs into audit planning and outcomes. Define the scope, criteria, and objectives for each Supply Chain audit, in collaboration with the Programme Quality Management Leads and ensure the requirements are understood. Complete unplanned audits due to urgent operational needs identified through risk reviews. Ensure that audits are planned effectively with stakeholder and auditee engagement. Identify and correctly categorize findings - Non-Conformances, Observations, Opportunities for Improvement, and Good Practice. Ensure that audit reports are produced accurately, internally reviewed, and published within agreed timescales. Monitor Non-Conformances within the reporting tool to ensure they are closed in a timely manner, corrective actions are completed, and effectively implemented. Input into the development of the monthly dashboard report indicating the health of the Supply Chain Audit Programme. Undertake appropriate measurement and analysis of audit results to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Provide audit performance data input to the annual SZC Project Management Review process when requested. Liaise with other auditors when required to ensure audit data is available for review by the Certification Body Assessor. Coordinate with auditor resources to share experiences and learning opportunities. Customer-Specific - Principal Accountability Drive the Trust agenda forward by ensuring that all decisions affecting customers meet the Trust Test, deliver desired customer outcomes, and enable informed customer choices. Secondary accountability Check works are conducted in accordance with the contract and notify of non-conformances. Proactively communicate with other teams, maintain good communication links, and ensure issues are reported timely. Identify potential quality issues proactively to enable mitigating actions. Support team instructions to take temporary measures to mitigate and maintain works within Quality standards, following up with appropriate actions (e.g., issuing communications, meetings). Use the learning portal to communicate quality learning to wider teams. Ensure tasks are developed to quality standards in accordance with health, safety, and environmental requirements. Analyze data, prepare reports, and make recommendations. Demonstrate the ability to influence and provide constructive challenge accepted by others. Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Be a proactive, flexible team player who works on own initiative. Fluent in English. Nuclear Safety Accountabilities This position will have nuclear safety responsibilities which could impact nuclear safety through the activities performed, as detailed in the Nuclear Baseline. Knowledge, Skills, Qualification & Experience Essential HNC/HND qualification or Degree in relevant science or engineering, or equivalent. Broad experience in implementing quality-related solutions. Successfully completed an IRCA-accredited Lead Audit Course for ISO 9001:2015/ISO 19443:2018, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001. Experience applying ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and/or ISO 19443 standards in multidisciplinary projects. Proven leadership experience in quality assurance/control within the nuclear or a similar safety-critical industry. Experience working with diverse stakeholders in a multicultural environment. Desirable Hold a professional accreditation (IRCA). Lead auditor certification in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or ISO 19443. Membership or progressing towards membership of the Chartered Quality Institute & Chartered Quality Professional. Commercial experience, particularly in supplier management. Prior experience working in regulated environments (e.g., nuclear). Experience with integrated management systems. Experience with independent oversight or audit roles. Knowledge of nuclear site license conditions. Experience interacting with regulators such as ONR. Knowledge of improvement methodologies like Lean Six Sigma. Knowledge of the nuclear sector, especially new build projects. Ability to speak French is advantageous. Knowledge of pressure and nuclear codes.
