Who we are looking for:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team at TDMS. This role is ideal for someone considering a future career in teaching or a career in pastoral care and behaviour management. As part of your role, you will gain valuable whole-class experience and build a strong foundation that can support future progression, for the right candidate, onto one of the many routes to Qualified Teacher Status through our Haybridge SCITT or onto a pastoral career such as an achievement leader.
The successful candidate will:
work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom
supervise whole classes during the absence of teachers
provide 1:1 or small group interventions (where applicable)
The post is permanent, 37 hours per week, term time only plus the school training days. Salary Scale TA 3 (point range 7-17) (£26,403- £31,022) pro-rated to term time only working. Start date: 1 September 2026
This role reports to a member of SLT.
You will have:
Our successful candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:
NVQ level 3 or above qualification appropriate to the post or relevant experience.
Level 2 in English and maths or evidence of working at this level.
Very good IT, numeracy and literacy skills.
Willingness to undertake further professional development.
Previous experience of working in a classroom environment with students.
Experience of procedures relating to child protection and safeguarding.
