Overview
Speech and Language Therapists are core to the efficient service delivery that we provide to children, young people and their families. As a Speech and Language Therapist in our service, you will deliver care to children, young people and their families in Waltham Forest. In your allocated schools you will provide assessments including EHCPs as well as delivering intervention and training to upskill school staff. There may be opportunities for experience in our pre-school team.
Responsibilities
* Deliver care to children, young people and their families in Waltham Forest in allocated schools.
* Provide assessments including Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Deliver intervention and training to upskill school staff.
* Support opportunities for experience in the pre-school team where available.
Support and Development
* Band five therapists are supported through a band five peer supervision group and regular supervision from an experienced therapist.
* Regular catch-ups and service-specific meetings are held.
* Internal and external training opportunities available; the service promotes being a reflective team where change is welcomed.
* Induction details: new starters join on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training and allocation of equipment. New starters meet the executive team, senior managers and attend drop-in sessions on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. Induction is held at the Trust head office in Rainham, Essex.

* Probationary period applies to this post. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period unless they are currently part way through a probationary period or are a bank member of staff.
* This post attracts a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15%.
