Part-Time Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support (Runcorn)
Location: Runcorn
Contract: Part-time, Long-term (Immediate start - could continue until July 2026)
Hours: Monday to Friday, mornings only (8:30am - 12:30pm)
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding part-time role? We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support across Key Stage 2 in a welcoming primary school in Runcorn.
This is a long-term, ongoing opportunity, starting immediately, with the potential to continue until July 2026. You will work closely with three different students across KS2, offering tailored support at different times throughout the morning.
The Role
As a Part-time Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:
1. Providing 1:1 support to pupils in Key Stage 2 to help them access the curriculum.
2. Delivering targeted interventions and reinforcing learning objectives set by the class teacher.
3. Supporting children with additional needs, ensuring they remain engaged and motivated.
4. Promoting positive behaviour and building strong, supportive relationships with pupils.
5. Collaborating with teachers and SEN staff to monitor and record progress.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
6. Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant (school-based).
7. Experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, ideally in KS2.
8. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
9. A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach to supporting children.
10. A valid DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
