Production Manager (125cm) - Blackwood, South Wales - £42,000 - £45,000 per annum
Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) activities within a specialist aviation environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational Performance
o Plan and coordinate production activities to meet delivery deadlines and operational targets.
o Develop and manage detailed production schedules across multiple work centres.
o Monitor output, identify efficiencies, and implement improvements to reduce waste and control costs.
o Resolve operational issues quickly to maintain continuity of production.
o Track performance metrics and provide regular reports to senior management.
o Identify risks and proactively manage critical paths to ensure on-time delivery.
* Compliance & Quality
o Ensure all work meets required quality standards and technical specifications.
o Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
o Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
o Review and enforce policies and procedures to ensure consistency and adherence to legislation.
* Leadership & Team Management
o Lead and manage production teams, including shift planning and task allocation.
o Drive performance through effective leadership, coaching, and development of staff.
o Maintain discipline, morale, and a high-performance culture within the team.
o Support cross-functional collaboration to meet operational and business objectives.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in leadership and team management within an operational environment.
* Strong planning, coordination, and scheduling capability.
* Experience using IT systems, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Ability to analyse performance data and communicate findings effectively.
* Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate under pressure.
* Experience managing multiple priorities while maintaining safety and quality standards.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.
* Professional, structured, and proactive approach to work.
This role would suit candidates with backgrounds such as:
* Engineering or technical trades (REME, RAF Engineering, Naval Engineering)
* Logistics, supply chain, or operations management
* Workshop, maintenance, or equipment support environments
* Supervisory or senior NCO roles with responsibility for people and output
