ROLE – Quality & Manufacturing Engineer
TERM – Permanent
LOCATION – Manchester
SALARY – £30,000 – £45,000, dependent on experience
My client provides bespoke products and engineering solutions for manufacture. They are looking for a Quality & Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Manchester on a permanent basis.
The Quality & Manufacturing Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
* Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering or similar
* At least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing, production, or quality engineering role
* Previous experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment
* Strong understanding of quality tools and methodologies such as 8D, RCA, CAPA, FMEA or SPC
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as assembly, machining, sheet metal fabrication or plastics
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work with tight tolerances
* Experience working with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Proficient using MS Office and familiar with MRP/ERP systems
* Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work well both independently and as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
The Quality & Manufacturing Engineer role will involve:
* Supporting and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness
* Conducting inspections of components and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications
* Managing non-conformances, carrying out root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions
* Liaising with manufacturing providers and suppliers to resolve quality or production issues
* Creating and maintaining production documentation including work instructions, process plans and reports
* Supporting NPI activities to ensure new products are introduced smoothly and meet quality standards
* Providing technical support to production teams and assisting with troubleshooting
* Maintaining accurate records within the MRP system including BOMs and routing updates
* Participating in internal and external audits and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
* Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
