Overview
We are looking to recruit a full time Band 8a Clinical Psychologist to join the S-CAMHS service in Hywel Dda University Health Board. The role includes 0.5 wte in an ARFID service for young people and 0.5 wte in the Schools In Reach and Primary Mental Health Worker Service. The ARFID role covers the whole Health Board footprint, with potential for a specific geographical area and SIRS/PMHWS team allocation. The role is based in Carmarthen. A small reduction in hours may be considered for part-time applicants.
The S-CAMHS and ARFID teams are well established, with ongoing opportunities to contribute to shaping the new service. Inter‑agency collaboration across S-CAMHS and PMHWS is central to the role.
Responsibilities
* Provide psychology within the multi-disciplinary ARFID Team, including assessment, formulation, intervention and consultation.
* Contribute to training for the wider S-CAMHS service and share specialist knowledge and skills.
* Deliver direct clinical work with young people and families; provide supervision to Assistant Psychologists and Trainee Clinical Psychologists; provide training and consultation to service colleagues.
* Contribute to the Schools In Reach Service through consultation and training to colleagues in other agencies and educational settings.
* Engage in research and project work as part of service development and evaluation.
* Work in one of the three SIRS/PMHWS teams across the health board footprint with support from established colleagues.

Location and Services
* Hospitals and community services across the region, including Bronglais, Glangwili, Prince Philip and Withybush Hospitals; multiple community hospitals and integrated care centres; and extensive primary care provision.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Essential: HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist; Doctoral level training in clinical, forensic or counselling psychology (with relevant therapies and lifespan development); knowledge of psychometrics; post-qualification training in at least one area relevant to the post.
* Desirable: Additional qualifications in research methodology, staff training or other applied psychology fields; experience with ARFID; knowledge of culturally-informed practice.
* Experience: Specialist psychological assessment and treatment across care settings; experience with children and young people and/or mental health; experience with a range of client groups across the life course.
* Other: Ability to travel between sites; flexible approach, including evenings and weekends; Welsh language skills are desirable (Level 1).
