Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in supported living settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care and a strong understanding of the unique needs of seniors, including those with mental health and learning disabilities. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through compassionate support and effective caregiving.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health or behaviour.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
* Support clients with behaviour management strategies as needed, particularly for those with dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
* Drive clients to appointments or social engagements when necessary.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care is provided.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings is highly desirable.
* Certification in First Aid is preferred.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
* A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting clients as needed.
