Sales Manager
Overview
Our client is seeking a proactive, commercially driven Sales Manager to lead their sales function and drive growth across all revenue streams. This leadership role is responsible for managing the New Business Lead, the Customer Success Manager and the Existing Inbound Sales Lead, ensuring alignment across new business, retention and customer development.
Reporting to the Executive Vice President, you will shape and execute the sales strategy, oversee performance, deliver revenue targets and build a high-performing, collaborative sales culture. This is a hybrid role requiring some agreed on-site presence, with occasional travel to client locations and national events.
This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact within a growing software organisation, contributing to strategic development while working closely with a passionate, customer-first team.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
• Lead, develop and motivate team members across new business, customer success and inbound sales.
• Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture with clear expectations and accountability.
• Ensure strong alignment between sales, customer experience and operational delivery.
• Support retention, customer excellence and continuous improvement across more than 1,000 customers.
• Work closely with Professional Services to support scheduling, marketing of training programmes and forecasting accuracy.
Sales Growth & Strategy
• Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to grow new business and B2B revenue.
• Identify new market opportunities and develop strategic partnerships.
• Align campaigns, product offerings and service delivery with sales objectives.
• Drive consistent market engagement to build pipeline and support long-term sustainable growth.
Performance & KPI Management
• Define and manage KPIs across sales functions to measure performance and guide decisions.
• Analyse pipeline health, conversion rates and campaign success to identify improvement areas.
• Provide regular performance and revenue insights to the Executive Vice President.
Customer Experience & Collaboration
• Work closely with customer success and professional services to maintain strong engagement and retention.
• Ensure customer feedback informs ongoing sales and marketing strategy.
• Promote seamless collaboration across teams, ensuring a unified customer journey from initial engagement through to service delivery.
Reporting & Forecasting
• Produce accurate sales forecasts, performance reports and commercial analyses.
• Present key findings, trends and recommendations to senior leadership.
Marketing Oversight
• Oversee marketing campaign planning and execution to ensure alignment with sales strategy.
• Support the development of customer communications, content, digital campaigns and events.
• Monitor lead generation performance to maximise ROI.
• Ensure marketing materials clearly promote products, training and services.
Requirements
Skills & Experience
• Proven experience as a Sales Manager, Commercial Manager or Sales & Marketing Manager.
• Demonstrated success leading sales teams to achieve ambitious revenue targets.
• Strong understanding of integrated sales strategies, KPI management and performance analysis.
• Experience working collaboratively with operations, customer success and service delivery teams.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Confident user of CRM systems.
• Minimum five years’ experience in software sales and people management.

Benefits
• Salary: £45,000–£50,000 per annum.
• 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
