We are pleased to be recruiting to a trauma specialist 8a psychological therapist post (0.8 wte) to work within our multi-modality therapy team in secondary care for adults with moderate-severe mood, anxiety and personality disorders. The post holder will be an experienced clinician for service users with PTSD and complex PTSD offering trauma-focussed CBT (may additionally be experienced in EMDR), also with significant experience using CBT for adults with moderate to severe mood and anxiety disorders. The post holder will have experience of line managing and supervising junior psychologists trainees, as well as offering consultation and link-working with colleagues.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will demonstrate experience and skill in working with PTSD and cPTSD with adults in secondary care with moderate-severe presentations, using trauma-focussed CBT, as well as other mood and anxiety disorders. The role requires supervision and line management of more junior psychologists and trainees. The post holder will contribute to service audits and development projects, and consultation within the team and to other professionals.
Working for our organisation
1.The successful applicant will work alongside other Clinical/Counselling Psychologists delivering assessment and therapy, with some of the staff also employed in specialist trauma posts. They will also work alongside psychotherapists offering Cognitive Analytic Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy as part of this well-established multi-modality team. There are line management and supervisory responsibilities, as well as link-working with CMHTs to provide consultation, teaching, co-working. The team is based in central Croydon (Jeanette Wallace House) and face-to-face sessions are provided at this base and at other Croydon sites. Wednesdays are an essential team day.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
·To provide a highly specialist psychological interventions to adults in secondary care with moderate to severe mood, anxiety and personality disorders and provide highly specialist clinical input, particularly for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and complex PTSD, including specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes.
·To contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.
·To provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate, functioning as a specialist in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
·To promote service evaluation, audit and research.
·To work as an autonomous professional within registration body guidelines and codes of conduct, and guided by principles and policies or procedures of the service, taking responsibility for interpreting policies within defined parameters.
·To agree outcomes/results with clinical/professional lead and to decide how they are best achieved.
·To be active in the provision of staff support within their area, including but not limited to Critical Incident Staff Support and Reflect-Support-Resolve. To participate, as a recipient, in staff support work when appropriate.

Essential criteria
1. Registered with HCPC/APC/BPC/UKCP/BACP/BABCP
2. Significant core / further training in CBT and tf-CBT
3. Training course in supervision
Desirable criteria
4. Training in EMDR parts I, II and III
5. Training in NET
6. Accredited as a CBT practitioner with BABCP
Experienced
Essential criteria
7. Adult secondary care experience mood, anxiety and personality disorders with CBT
8. Adult secondary care experience of tf-CBT for PTSD or cPTSD
9. Supervision of psychologists or trainees
Desirable criteria
10. Experience of treating PTSD with EMDR
11. Experience of post-qualification service level audit
12. Experience of working with refugees and asylum seekers
