The Infrastructure team provides Server & Compute, Network and Collaboration services to Ashurst.
The Server & Compute team manages on‑premises server estate, storage and backups across our offices and data centres. The Network team manages LAN and WAN technologies, firewall and internet access solutions. The Collaboration team manages our global Unified Communications and Exchange platforms.
This role is key in managing and leading the Infrastructure Team to ensure the successful delivery of our services and support within the organisation. Working closely with other Infrastructure Team Leaders, the role focuses on people management, ensuring processes are adhered to, and prioritising and allocating the BAU and Jira backlog. Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills are essential to deliver and improve our services.
Team Management
* Supervision and Support: Oversee daily activities and performance of team members.
* Resource Allocation: Work with the Infrastructure Manager to assign work and initiatives based on team members’ skills and workload capacity.
Quality of Service
* Service Delivery: Ensure high quality services that meet stakeholder expectations consistently.
* Change Management: Implement changes to systems smoothly, without negatively impacting services or users.
Agile Methodologies
* Scrum Master Role: Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
* Prioritisation: Help the team prioritise tasks and manage workloads effectively within the Agile framework.
Communication
* Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a point of contact between the team and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of project status and outcomes.
* Team Communication: Facilitate open communication within and across wider IT teams to foster collaboration and resolve issues efficiently.
This is a full‑time, 12‑month Fixed Term Contract role based in our Glasgow office with hybrid working.
Qualifications
* Strong team leader and people management skills, preferably gained in a global organisation.
* Experience managing escalations to a satisfactory outcome.
* Experience delivering BAU initiatives and small internal projects using Agile methodologies.
* Experience managing continuous improvement.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a track record of establishing and maintaining effective relationships and collaborating with stakeholders.
