This role involves working with children who have Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), providing them with the necessary support to enhance their educational experience. Day-to-day of the role: Assist in the delivery of tailored educational activities designed for children with PMLD.Work closely with the lead teacher to implement individual education plans (IEPs).Provide one-on-one support to students, ensuring they engage in learning and stay on track with their goals.Facilitate communication between students and staff using appropriate methods, including non-verbal techniques.Monitor and support the wellbeing and safety of students throughout the school day.Adapt resources and techniques to meet the needs of students with various disabilities.Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists and occupational therapists, to implement comprehensive support plans. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience working with children with PMLD or similar needs.Understanding of the challenges faced by children with profound and multiple learning disabilities.Patience, compassion, and a strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of students.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.Relevant qualifications in education or special needs education are preferred.
