As an Apprentice Personal Advisor, you’ll provide practical and emotional support to care‑experienced young people aged between 16 and 25. Everyone leaving care has an important document called a pathway plan that helps them prepare for the future. In this rewarding, site‑based role you will review those plans, help young people into accommodation, education, employment or training, and speak up on their behalf. The role is fixed term for 18 months and interviews will be held on 30 April.
Responsibilities
* Provide advice, guidance, and practical help, including reviewing pathway plans.
* Work collaboratively with social workers and other professionals.
* Record interactions accurately and adhere to council policies.
* Promote participation and service development for young people.
* Support the team in co‑facilitating group work sessions with care‑experienced young people.
* Demonstrate willingness to learn quickly and undertake structured training.
Qualifications
* Previous experience (paid or voluntary) working with children, young people, or families.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team and make considered decisions.
* Self‑motivated, flexible, and able to manage your own workload.
* If offered the role we will arrange an Enhanced DBS check as part of the pre‑employment process (unless you’re already registered with the DBS Update Service).
