Consultant Radiologist with a major interest in GU Radiology

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated colleague with a specialist interest in Genitourinary radiology or IR with a GU interest to join our team of 44 consultants. We are a dynamic and innovative department, and the applicant will be expected to provide acute and sub‑speciality imaging and have a strong interest in teaching. Portsmouth is part of the East branch of the Wessex specialist registrars training scheme, providing training to 20 specialist registrars. Portsmouth University NHS Trust is in partnership with the Isle of Wight and hosts the new Portsmouth Medical School.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
* Entry on the GMC specialist register via CCT (proposed date must be within 6 months), CESR or European Community Rights
* Fellowship of Royal College of Radiologists, or equivalent.
* Subspecialty experience in genitourinary imaging
* Management course or experience.
* Fellowship level training in genitourinary imaging.
* Interventional Uroradiology experience including image‑guided biopsies and some fluoroscopic procedures.
Experience
* Demonstrable, significant and ongoing experience in GU radiology with evidence of significant subspecialist training, including competence in a broad range of ultrasound, MRI, CT including biopsies.
* General Diagnostic Radiology skills to support local requirements for acute general radiology service weekday time and on call/ in and working at weekend.
* Understanding of clinical risk management.
* Evidence of teaching medical, radiographic and nursing staff.
* Fellowship in Uroradiology.
* Interventional Uroradiology experience including image‑guided biopsies and some fluoroscopic procedures.
Additional criteria
* Professional skills of high standard in Clinical Radiology.
* Demonstrable basic management skills.
* Excellent time management.
* Computer literacy.
* Appropriate and relevant publications in peer‑reviewed journals; presentations at national or international meetings.
* Evidence of clinical research training and significant involvement in research projects.
* Advanced computer skills.
* Knowledge of the principles of service redesign.
