Ask us about flexible working options to fit with your work/life balance - HappytoTalkFlexible The Role Bolton Council are looking to recruit a Transport Administrator to support the work of the Transport Operations team. The Integrated Transport Service provides escorted transport for 1400 pupils, and post 16 students with special educational needs and disabilities to schools and colleges within Bolton and beyond. The service also arranges transport for other services including for older people to day care, children who are looked after, and other provisions for after school clubs and short breaks/respite. You will be responsible for supporting the Operations Team with the day-to-day delivery of the transport service. You will be expected to engage with Passenger Assistants who accompany customers on their journey and provide support and guidance on a day-to-day basis. You will administer requests for transport and deal with queries and enquiries from service users, transport operators and maintain accurate records related to the service including, but not limited to, transport operator DBS, and contractor compliance/performance. About You We are looking for candidates with excellent attention to detail and good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills. You should have experience of working in an administrative environment, be computer literate, have data entry experience, and a good understanding of Excel spreadsheets. Finance experience would be advantageous however not mandatory. You will have a good working knowledge of the Bolton area, have experience of managing difficult situations whilst working in a demanding working environment, and be able to demonstrate resilience in such situations. The ideal candidate will have experience of effectively prioritising a demanding workload and proven ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively as well as a proven track record of providing customer care to an agreed standard. You will have a team player style of approach, ready to take on any challenge and knowledge and experience of using computerised/digital systems.
