A leading Defence prime are currently seeking a Senior/Principal RF Engineer on a contract basis to join a world-class defence technology organisation working on cutting-edge radar and surveillance systems used in advanced aerospace platforms.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on next-generation RF and microwave technologies, contributing to sophisticated radar systems and advanced sensing solutions.
Key skills
• Microwave PCB materials and design techniques
• Degree educated (BSc, BEng, MEng, MSc, PhD, EngD) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related science
• RF / Microwave subsystem design
• Microwave design tools (e.g. AWR, ADS, SystemVue, VSS, MATLAB)
• EM simulation tools (e.g. CST)
• GaAs / GaN MMIC design and applications
• RF synthesiser design (DDS / PLL technologies)
The Opportunity
As an RF / Microwave Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of multifunctional RF systems, from concept through to production. You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams solving complex engineering challenges on advanced defence platforms.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and support the full hardware lifecycle – from system concept and detailed design to prototyping, test, verification, integration and production support
• Develop RF PCB and module designs using the latest microwave technologies
• Conduct design reviews, produce high-quality technical documentation and maintain configuration control
• Design and develop test prototypes to validate RF designs and support verification activities
• Capture requirements and carry out detailed design activities through to verification
• Prepare manufacturing data packs and provide technical support to production and subcontractors
• Collaborate with systems, electronics and test engineers to resolve integration challenges on advanced systems
