Job Title: 1:1 Tutor (Home & School-Based) Location: Kettering Area Hours: School Hours (Typically 8:30am – 3:30pm, flexible depending on placement) Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience and qualifications) About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and flexible 1:1 Tutor to support pupils in the Kettering area, working across both home and school settings. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, including those with special educational needs (SEN), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, or those currently out of mainstream education. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver personalised 1:1 lessons tailored to each pupil’s needs Support learning in core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities Build positive and trusting relationships to support engagement and progress Work collaboratively with schools, parents, and other professionals Track progress and provide regular feedback and reports Requirements Experience working with children or young people (teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or support roles) Good knowledge of the UK curriculum Strong communication and behaviour management skills Patient, reliable, and adaptable approach Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one) Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable) Desirable Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching/tutoring qualification Experience supporting SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision learners Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures What We Offer Flexible working within school hours Ongoing support and professional development A rewarding opportunity to make a real difference Competitive pay rates How to Apply If you are passionate about supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and helping them reach their full potential, please submit your CV along with a brief cover statement outlining your experience and suitability.
