Staff Software Engineer The Opportunity We're partnering with a well-established firm seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join their engineering team. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade systems and backend services. Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making. Build tools, reports, and data feeds to fulfil requirements across operations and risk teams. Ensure systems are scalable, performant, cost-efficient, and operationally resilient. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders on implementation and maintenance of core systems. Participate in cross-functional technology efforts to support wider business and operational goals. Essential Skills & Experience Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognised university. 6 years of experience in a technical software engineering role. Strong Computer Science fundamentals and software architecture and design skills. Hands-on experience with Java (ideally including Spring Boot). Experience working in cloud environments (AWS or other major cloud platforms). Desirable Skills AWS certification. Familiarity with high-performance or time-sensitive technical environments.
