Job Description
We are seeking a Project Manager to join a tier 1 Principal Contractor across building & civils.
You will be responsible for leading the day-to-day delivery of a large, complex project.
This role involves managing significant work packages and progressing toward full responsibility for key areas such as structures, civils, and logistics. You will ensure project elements are delivered on time and within budget, while maintaining strong engagement with clients, end users, and local communities.
This is a hands-on position covering all stages of delivery, including tendering, design, procurement, installation, and commissioning. You will drive progress across project packages with support from the Senior Project Manager and Construction Director. Experience in datacentre projects is desirable.
Location: Initially based in London, with relocation Berkshire, where the role will be site-based five days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work closely with Design Managers to ensure the project/PCSA is set up effectively and that Stage 4+ designs are properly managed and delivered.
* Collaborate with internal teams and the supply chain to establish site planning early in the project lifecycle.
* Develop and implement the project programme in partnership with Planning, Design, and Commercial teams.
* Support the Senior Project Manager and Construction Director in promoting a strong safety and quality culture, ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations, standards, and HSEQ requirements.
* Define and communicate clear responsibilities across subcontractors, production teams, and engineering functions to ensure accountability and alignment.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale building projects valued at £150M or more.
* Previous experience as a Senior Construction Manager on major developments.
* Strong knowledge of programme sequencing, ideally within the datacentre sector.
* Proven ability to lead teams effectively during the delivery phase.
* Degree-qualified (or equivalent) with substantial experience managing projects of this scale.
