As the Senior AI & Data Science Lead, you will be responsible for the development and execution of our European AI and sophisticated analytics roadmap. You will lead a team of data scientists and analytics guides, delivering intelligence solutions and shaping the generation of D2C innovation across categories including Smartphones, TV, Monitors, and Home Appliances. This role is built for a senior data leader with a blend of deep technical capability, strong product and eye for business and a passion for driving measurable commercial impact. You will influence decision-making at senior levels, embed AI into the core of our operating model and elevate Samsung’s position as a leader in data driven digital commerce. Role and Responsibilities What Will This Role Achieve? Establish a European AI and advanced analytics vision for the D2C business, creating a roadmap that elevates data-driven decision-making across all product categories and D2C channels. Deliver scalable AI, predictive modelling, and automation solutions that materially improve D2C trading, forecasting accuracy, commercial planning, marketing optimisation and operational efficiency. Transform manual, fragmented analytical processes into automated, intelligent systems that increase speed, reliability, and accessibility of insights across the organisation. Build a high-performing AI and data science capability, developing talent, ways of working and guideline frameworks that position Samsung Europe as a global benchmark in D2C analytics. Embed AI and intelligence directly into core D2C workflows, enabling proactive decision-making and reducing dependency on discount-led strategies by unlocking deeper customer understanding and revenue optimisation. Enhance data democratisation across Europe, empowering cross-functional teams with self-serve dashboards, diagnostic tools and automation that improve performance visibility and reduce operational friction. Strengthen alignment between European teams, global HQ and local subsidiaries, ensuring consistency in data methodologies, AI adoption, and analytics standards. Play a central leadership role in Samsung’s European data transformation, shaping long-term capabilities and influencing global data strategy through confirmed innovation and measurable business impact. Your key responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Vision Lead the creation and execution of the European D2C AI, automation and predictive analytics strategy, ensuring alignment with Samsung’s global digital transformation agenda. Translate complex data capabilities into clear, actionable business opportunities that improve commercial performance and customer experience. Shape long-term roadmap enhancements, including AI products, data platforms, and emerging technologies. Team Leadership & Capability Development Lead, mentor and grow a high performing team of data analysts and automation specialists. Establish guidelines, technical standards and governance frameworks to ensure quality, scalability and consistency across all analytics and data science workstreams. Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation and continuous improvement. AI, Machine Learning & Predictive Modelling Oversee the design and deployment of advanced models supporting trading, demand forecasting, pricing, churn prediction, attribution modelling, customer segmentation and operational excellence. Ensure models are production ready, trusted and embedded directly into business reporting outcomes. Partner with global and local engineering teams to access, integrate, and optimise data European pipelines. Automation & Operational Efficiency Drive the automation of recurring analytical reports, workflows and data pipelines to unlock speed, accuracy and resource efficiency. Champion the adoption of modular, reusable automation and analytical components across EU markets. Analytical Products, Dashboards & Data Visualisation Set the strategic direction for self-serve analytics, including performance dashboards and diagnostic tools across Qlik Sense, Superset, Bid data centre, Global BI and other BI platforms. Ensure analytical products meet team member needs, drive behavioural change and enhance visibility of D2C commercial performance. Innovation & Emerging Technology Exploration Proactively see opportunities to embed generative AI, Robotic process automation, machine learning and intelligent automation across customer, commercial and operational journeys. Run pilots, POCs and experiments to validate new techniques and scale those with confirmed business value. Collaborator Influence & Cross Functional Partnership Act as the senior AI and analytics adviser to D2C leadership, providing proactive recommendations and decision making guidance and support. Build strong partnerships with Marketing, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Category Teams and HQ teams in Suwon. Translate advanced analytics into compelling narratives and clear business outcomes for senior executives. What we need for this role To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes: Advanced expertise in Python (Pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, Matplotlib, Selenium) and SQL (BigQuery, T-SQL) with a consistent record of building scalable data models, automation frameworks and production grade machine learning solutions. Deep understanding of machine learning and statistical modelling, including forecasting, predictive analytics, segmentation, optimisation and experimentation methodologies. Strong capability in data visualisation and analytical product development, with hands-on experience in platforms such as Qlik Sense, Apache Superset, or equivalent enterprise BI tools. Proven success in transforming manual and complex reporting workflows into automated, self-serve and repeatable solutions that improve operational efficiency. Exceptional communication, partner management and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and translate technical concepts into strategic business insights. Confirmed ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels, shaping long-term AI/analytics roadmaps while remaining hands-on when required to drive delivery. Strong analytical approach, commercial foresight, and passion for innovation, with the ability to challenge existing processes and introduce new ways of working. What does success look like?
