Overview
Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Multi-Skilled) – Gartnavel General Hospital Estates Department. This is a permanent, full-time post of 37 hours per week with a shift pattern Monday to Thursday (8am-4pm) and Friday (8am-3.30pm).
Responsibilities
* Maintain a wide range of building services plant and equipment and provide technical expertise in operating and maintaining safe and efficient systems of work for all building services.
* Provide mechanical services support to NHS GG&C Health Board, ensuring a safe delivery of patient care and a planned maintenance, repair, and installation service that represents quality and value for money.
* Examine and inspect faults in plant and machinery, assess possible repair methods, and discuss impact with managers and heads of departments.
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance using work requests and complete all required records and documentation.
* Adhere to NHS GG&C Health and Safety and SHTM Policies and Procedures.
* Undertake minor alterations and modifications to existing services.
* Organise and manage daily workload and priorities.
* Designated individuals may require training to be certified as a Competent Person for specialist and refresher duties.
Qualifications
* Recognised and registered EITB or CITB (or equivalent) craft Apprenticeship or City & Guilds qualification; competent tradesperson with extensive relevant experience in building maintenance, preferably with healthcare sector experience.
* Suitable qualification of an HNC or equivalent in a core subject with additional qualifications as required in non-core skills is essential.
* Additional specialist training if required to undertake duties as a Competent Person.
