Technology Specialist (Growth)

Working hours: – Remote based with travel
The role:
To conduct technical due diligence reviews on potential iing schools across England. To audit and assure the IT infrastructure, processes, policies and people in schools. To provide technical, procurement and implementation support, input to their IT replacement strategy and backfill capacity for school staff in exigent circumstances.
Whilst you will be able to work remotely when appropriate, with Office 365 as our core business tool, SAAS and IAAS (Azure) as preferred platforms, this post will require travel to and the flexibility to stay overnight or longer at sites when required. Whilst we are open to flexible working to secure the right candidate, the need for travel is essential for this post. As such the post holder could be based in any location across England with the ability to effectively serve our schools.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct onsite visits in order to produce the Technology Due Diligence reports on the risk and costs associated with potential iing schools on a national (England) basis.
2. Deliver Technical Specialist support to the school for the first 3 months of a school’s join to the trust.
3. Introduce all new schools to the standard practices, processes and procedures for procurement, systems security and management.
4. Assisting schools with the deployment, management and evolution of their O365 tenancy and Azure infrastructure.
5. Investigating and resolving technical issues which schools are struggling with. Assisting in the implementation of upgrades and other technical projects with which schools require more specialist or experienced help.
6. Carrying out technical support in schools at short notice at times when emergency cover is needed.
7. Ensuring all new schools are working towards an IT replacement strategy, including financial implications as part of their Digital Strategy.
Essentials:
8. Office 365 and Azure. Knowledge of andpetence with PowerShellmands.
9. Detailed knowledge of networking and server systems, with the ability to trouble-shoot and resolve issues.
10. Good knowledge of the major technologies typically deployed to schools, including wireless and wired networking, server infrastructure, audio-visual, end-user devices andmon software.
11. Experience of supporting schools/businesses in the procurement and implementation of technology projects.
12. Knowledge of the processes, skills and tools needed to run a highly effective on-site technical support service
13. The ability to provide one-to-one training to school technical staff inmon processes (backup, anti-virus, identity management, etc.) and trouble-shooting/ resolution ofmon networking and server issues.
14. The ability to influence others, including school network managers, technicians and technology contractors/ suppliers.
15. Goodmunication skills and a strong ‘team’ approach to working with other professionals supporting the schools.
