Occasional travel required to our other locations in Leeds, Wales, and Basingstoke. Contract: Full-time, permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday. People management responsibility: 3 direct reports. Reports to: Operations Director. Your Role: In this newly created position, with multi-site responsibility, you will play a crucial role in leading the strategic development, implementation, and management of health and safety initiatives across multiple operational warehousing and office-based environments. Key Responsibilities: Team Management: Lead and manage the health and safety team, ensuring robust succession plans and providing strategic guidance, training, and support. Compliance: Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety policies aligned with strategic objectives. Lead the ISO 45001 accreditation process, ensuring ongoing compliance and integration of required procedures and behaviours. Stakeholders & Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership to integrate health and safety into business planning, decision-making, and reporting. Work with HR, third-party providers, and stakeholders to manage occupational health provisions. Performance & Continuous Improvement: Monitor and analyse health and safety performance metrics, providing strategic insights and recommendations. Manage the health and safety budget and resources, promoting a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement. Training Compliance: Ensure all employees receive appropriate health and safety training and are aware of their responsibilities. What you need to succeed: Qualifications: Professional certification in Health and Safety NEBOSH Diploma (or Equivalent). Experience: Proven track record of effective peer leadership. Experience with Health and Safety management systems, including ISO 45001. Skills: Ability to identify opportunities, formulate strategic solutions, and drive change. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Skilled in peer-to-peer communication of complex topics. Attributes: Willing to undertake multi-site and international travel as required.
