The School of Natural Sciences are seeking an Assistant Lecturer in Sport, Exercise, and Rehabilitation Sciences to join their academic team and contribute to the delivery of their undergraduate programmes.
The successful candidate will be keen to contribute to the teaching and learning delivery of the two undergraduate programmes and student opportunities currently offered in Sport, Exercise, and Rehabilitation Sciences. They will contribute to, develop, and enhance the activities of the School through bringing direct academic, professional and/or vocational experience to taught programmes and enterprise activities, and assist with the structure and development of teaching, enterprise, and student mentoring activities.
As an Assistant Lecturer you can expect to be involved in
* Develop and deliver student-centred teaching in established modules in a variety of settings, including developing own teaching and learning support materials, methods and approaches to meet the learning objectives and requirements of the programme.
* Set and mark assignments including assessing student progress and providing feedback to students.
* Contribute to the development and coordination of student placements with sports organisations, clubs, and health providers, ensuring students are well prepared for their future careers.
* Reflect on practice and the development of own teaching and learning skills.
* Contribute to the planning of teaching programmes.
What will you bring to the role?
* First degree or equivalent in Sport and Exercise Science, Sports Therapy, Psychology, or other relevant subject area
* Sufficient breadth and depth of specialist knowledge to teach within a range of established undergraduate modules in the subject area of Sport, Exercise, and Rehabilitation Sciences, and the capacity to communicate this knowledge effectively to students
* Evidence of effective teaching or coaching skills appropriate to the development and delivery of undergraduate teaching in the discipline
* Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills to communicate material of a specialist or highly technical nature and to be effective both orally and in writing at a level appropriate to the activity
